Luis Manuel Seijas Gunther (born June 23, 1986 in Valencia , Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan national soccer player who also has German citizenship . He plays in midfield primarily as a left wing midfielder .

Career

society

Luis Manuel Seijas played in his youth in the youth teams of the Venezuelan first division club FC Caracas before making the jump to the first team squad at the age of eighteen. However, he left the club in early 2006 and moved to the Argentine first division club CA Banfield , where he only made four appearances in a year and a half. Therefore, he moved back to his homeland to Deportivo Táchira FC in the summer of 2007 . There he became a regular player straight away, but after six months he moved abroad again, this time to Colombia for the first division club Independiente Santa Fe . There, too, he established himself as a regular player and played more than a hundred games. In the summer of 2011, Seijas moved to Europe and signed with the Belgian first division club Standard Liège ; the Walloons paid a transfer fee of 500,000 euros. There he was able to establish himself in the team from the 6th match day.

In mid-2013 he left Liège and moved to Deportivo Quito in Ecuador. In early 2014 he returned to Independiente Santa Fe, where he stayed until mid-2016 and won the Colombian championship in 2014. From mid-2016, Seijas played in Porto Alegre at SC Internacional . In 2017 he was loaned to Chapecoense for half a year . He has been playing for Independiente again since mid-2018.

National team

Luis Manuel Seijas was nominated for the Venezuelan national team at the age of twenty and has been part of the team's squad since 2006. In 2011 he took part in the Copa America with Venezuela and finished fourth.

Private

Luis Manuel Seijas is the son of a mother of German descent and therefore also has German citizenship. His brother Luis Roberto Seijas (* 1989) is also a professional soccer player.
