The Club Independiente Santa Fe SA , also simply called Santa Fe , is a football club from the Colombian capital Bogotá . The club colors are red and white.

history

The association was founded on February 28, 1941 . In 1948 Independiente Santa Fe won the first professional football championship of Colombia. Further titles followed in 1958, 1960, 1966, 1971, 1975 and most recently the semi-series championships in 2012 and 2014.

Santa Fe took part several times in international competitions such as B. Copa Libertadores , Copa Merconorte and Copa Conmebol . Santa Fe advanced to the finals at both Merconorte and Conmebol, but failed to win an international title until 2015.

In December 2015, Santa Fe became the first Colombian team to win the Copa Sudamericana . In the final, the club was able to prevail on penalties against the Argentine representative Club Atlético Huracán .

At the end of 2016 , Santa Fe was able to secure its ninth championship. In the final, the club was able to prevail against Deportes Tolima .

The games against Millonarios FC are known as Clásico bogotano and are a highlight in the Colombian football calendar.

Stadion

The club's home stadium is the Estadio Nemesio Camacho ("El Campín") in Bogotá with a capacity of 46,018, which Santa Fe shares with Millonarios.
