Asociación Deportivo Pasto is a Colombian football club from Pasto in the Colombian Departamento de Nariño , which plays in the Colombian first division .

history

The club, founded on October 12, 1949, has played in the second Colombian division since 1996 and made its first promotion to the first division in 1998. He became Colombian football champion for the first time in 2006 after reaching the final in 2002, but lost to Independiente Medellín . The club was relegated to the second division in 2009. In the first year in the second division Pasto was runner-up, but lost the relegation against Envigado FC . A year later, the rise succeeded. The club was runner-up in the first season after the promotion. In the Copa Colombia , Deportivo Pasto reached the final twice, but lost it on penalties against Santa Fe in 2009 and against Atlético Nacional in 2012 .

In the Apertura of the 2019 season , Deportivo Pasto was able to win Group A of the group stage ahead of Millonarios FC after finishing sixth in the league phase and reached the final, in which the club lost to Junior on penalties and thus became runner-up for the third time.

Estadio Departamental Libertad

Deportivo Pasto plays its home games in the multi-purpose stadium Estadio Departamental Libertad , which was built in 1955. After two major renovations between 2000 and 2007, it now holds 20,665 spectators. Due to renovation work on the stadium in Pasto, the club will move to the Estadio Municipal in Ipiales in the 2019 season .
