history

Prehistory and foundation

Jaguares de Córdoba goes back to the club Girardot FC , which was founded in 1995 and participated in the Categoría Primera B from 1995 to 2008 and was once runner-up. The owner and president of the club, Nelson Soto Duque, decided to move from Girardot to Palmira in 2009 due to a lack of financial support and to rename the club to Deportes Palmira . Since the financial situation there did not turn out to be easier, the club then moved to Buenaventura after only one year and was renamed Pacífico FC . For similar reasons, the company moved to Sincelejo in 2011 and was renamed Sucre FC . But when the agreements made there were not adhered to, Soto Duque decided to move to Montería, where his most successful project to date began.

With the Hinserien Championship, the club qualified for the finals for the annual championship and for promotion. Jaguares also provided Apertura's top scorer with Harold Preciado .

Following this success, José Alberte Suárez left the club and moved to Cúcuta Deportivo . Suarez was initially replaced by Gabriel Jaime Gómez , who was released after five matchdays. For him came Héctor Estrada .
