The Categoría Primera B 2014 , also called Torneo Postobón after a sponsor , is the twenty-fifth season of the second Colombian division in men's football , which consists of Apertura and Finalización . It started on January 25, 2014 and ended on December 14, 2014. Last year's champions are Uniautónoma FC . Besides Uniautónoma also rose Fortaleza FC in the Categoría Primera A on. Relegated from the first division are Deportes Quindío and Cúcuta Deportivo .
The first series won Jaguares de Córdoba , the second series Deportes Quindío . 2 defeat in the first leg 3: In the final, Jaguares de Córdoba was after a 0 0 prevail in the second leg and became champion and went straight into the Categoría Primera A on. Deportes Quindío lost the relegation against Uniautónoma FC .
In a special promotion round for eight traditional clubs in the second division in January 2015, Cúcuta Deportivo and Cortuluá were also promoted .
mode
Two tournaments are played, the Apertura and the Finalización . In the first phase, the Apertura , all 18 teams play against each other in league mode, in addition there is a game day with Clásicos , on which games with a derby character are played. The first eight teams qualify for the quarter-finals, followed by the semi-finals and finals.
In the finalización , the league phase is followed by a group phase with two groups of four teams each, who play two finalists in home and return games to determine the champions.
The two semi-series champions play a master who is promoted directly. In the final for promotion, the team that was higher in the overall table has home rights in the second leg. The runner-up plays a relegation against the penultimate in the first division. If a team wins both half-series, it is automatically champion. The next best team in the overall table then plays the relegation. There are currently no relegated teams from the second division.
