Llaneros FC is a Colombian football club from Villavicencio , Meta , which was founded in 2012 and has been playing in the Primera B category since the Torneo Finalización 2012 .
history
Llaneros FC was created by buying up the starting right of the Academia FC club . Thus after the dissolution of Centauros Villavicencio there is again a professional football club in Villavicencio and in the Colombian region of the Llanos .
In the first participation in the second division, the club was last. In the Torneo Apertura 2013 Llaneros FC was more successful and was able to qualify for the group stage, but without being able to move into the final. In the back series, the club missed a place in the top eight teams. In the Hinserie 2014 Llaneros reached the second place in the league phase and was able to move into the semi-finals, which was lost to América de Cali . In the back series, however, the entry into the final round was again missed. In the 2015 season , the club found itself at the bottom of the table and was penultimate. The club took exactly the same place a year later in the 2016 season .
Due to financial difficulties, moving out of Villavicencio was repeatedly discussed. For the 2017 season, however, it was possible to secure the remaining in the Llanos. The former youth coach and former professional footballer Jairo Patiño was hired as coach for 2017 . Apertura 2017 was more successful than the two previous seasons. Llaneros finished fourth in the league phase and failed in the quarterfinals at the eventual semi-series champions Boyacá Chicó FC . In the return series, Llaneros even reached the final, which was lost to Leones FC .
During the 2018 season , Patiño resigned and was replaced by Nelson Gómez . Llaneros was able to qualify for the final round in eighth place. There, however, the entry into the final was missed. In Apertura 2019 , Llaneros reached the final round as eighth of the league phase, but was bottom of the group there.
