history

Bogotá FC was founded in 2003 as Deportivo Sur de Bogotá . The club took over the right to start from Cóndor FC and took part in 2004 for the first time in the Colombian second division under the name Corporación Deportiva Bogotá Fútbol Club . The club has been called Bogotá Fútbol Club SA since 2012.The greatest success of the club so far has been reaching the group stage several times and finishing fourth in the 2008 table . However, he has not yet qualified for the final.

Due to a lack of support in Bogotá, in 2012 it was considered to move to Montería . However, the negotiations failed and the club stayed in Bogotá. After a weak year in 2012 , Bogotá FC was able to qualify in the first round tournament in 2013 as third for the group stage, but finished group B last. In the Torneo Finalización 2013 and in the back and forth series in 2014 , the qualification for the final round did not succeed. The 2015 season wasn't much more successful either. Bogotá FC reached 11th place.

In the 2016 season , Bogotá FC reached the final round in eighth place, but finished last in Group A, but scored a respectable success with a home win against Deportivo Pereira .

The Apertura 2017 finished Bogotá FC in 14th place and thus clearly failed to make it into the final round. In May 2017, coach Néstor Rodríguez resigned. Ernesto José Pacheco was introduced as his successor . In August, Pacheco was replaced by Mauricio Roa . The back series 2017 finished the club in 13th place. After the end of the 2018 season, Bogotá FC occupied the same place in the table. For the 2019 season , Jairo Patiño was signed as the new head coach. In the Apertura, Bogotá FC narrowly missed the finals in ninth place.
