Categoría Primera A 2015

The Categoría Primera B 2015 , also called Torneo Águila after a sponsor , was the twenty-sixth season of Colombia's second division in men's football . Last year's champion is Jaguares de Córdoba . In addition to Jaguares, Cúcuta Deportivo and Cortuluá also rose through a special promotion round for eight traditional clubs in the second division in the Categoría Primera A , which was held in January 2015. Fortaleza FC is relegated from the first division .

Atlético Bucaramanga , which had already dominated the league phase and finished first with an eleven point lead, was the first to be promoted one day before the end of the final round . Last year's relegated Fortaleza FC secured the second promotion place .

Champion was Atlético Bucaramanga, which was able to prevail in the final against Fortaleza. After a 2-0 away win in the first leg in Bogotá , a 0-0 second leg in Bucaramanga was enough for Atlético Bucaramanga's second second division title.

mode

In October 2014, the Dimayor decided to reduce the second division to 16 teams, while increasing the first division to 20 teams. This was preceded by a decrease in the number of spectators in the first division due to the relegation of many traditional clubs to the second division and due to the rise of many newly founded teams that do not have a large fan base.

Only one tournament is played in which all teams play against each other in home and return matches. In addition, there are two game days with Clásicos , on which games with a derby character are played. The first eight teams qualify for the final round. The final round consists of a group stage with two groups of four teams each, which determine the two direct promoters in the first and second legs. The two group winners also play out the champions in a final.

Clubs in the Categoría Primera B 2015

The following clubs will take part in the 2015 season. Deportivo Rionegro has been renamed Leones FC. After the club had already moved to Bello in the previous year , it moved to Turbo in early 2015 . Expreso Rojo moved from Girardot to Zipaquirá .
