The Estadio Doce de Octubre ( German Stadium of October 12th ) is a football stadium in the Colombian city of Tuluá . It has space for 16,000 spectators and serves as the home of the Colombian first division club Cortuluá .
history
Location of the stadium in the Valle del Cauca |
The Estadio Doce de Octubre was built in 1967. It is in the neighborhood of the same name, Doce de Octubre . It was a venue for the U-17 South American Football Championship in 1993 . The stadium is not very modern and so Cortuluá was unable to play its home games in its own stadium at the 2002 Copa Libertadores . Even after the promotion to the first division in 2015, the condition of the stadium was criticized. Nevertheless, the stadium is the third most important stadium in the region after the Estadio Olímpico Pascual Guerrero and the Estadio Deportivo Cali .
For the 2017 season, DIMAYOR did not allow the use of the stadium, which is why Cortuluá had to move to Cali and Palmira until the condition of the stadium was improved. At the beginning of the second half of 2018, Cortuluá was able to return to the renovated stadium.
