history
Location of the stadium in Cesar |
The Estadio Estadio Armando Maestre Pavajeau was built in 1956.
From 2014 to 2016, the stadium was renovated in a first phase of construction and opened in the presence of Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and the Governor of the Department del Cesar, Franco Ovalle . There was criticism that the completion did not take place as planned at the opening and that the construction work did not come to a conclusion afterwards either. The state of the stage is said to be incomplete.
In addition to the Estadio Municipal de Montería , the stadium in Valledupar was the venue for the 2015 U-15 South American Football Championship . In addition to the group A games, the semi-finals, the third place match and the final took place at the Estadio Armando Maestre Pavajeau.
During the renovation of the stadium, Valledupar FC played their home games in the second half of 2014 at the Estadio Federico Serrano Soto in Riohacha and in 2015 at the Erasmo Camacho Calamar baseball stadium in Valledupar. For the 2016 season, the club returned to its not yet completely finished home stadium.
