The 1993 U-17 South American Football Championship took place in Colombia in 1993 .
The game was played in two groups of five teams each, followed by a final phase with four teams, also in group mode. The national teams of Argentina , Bolivia , Brazil , Chile , Colombia , Ecuador , Paraguay , Peru , Uruguay and Venezuela took part in the tournament. The U-17 of Colombia emerged as the winner from the event. Places two to four went to the national teams from Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
Colombia, Chile and Argentina, as the three top-ranked teams after the tournament, qualified for the 1993 U-17 World Cup in Japan .
