history

The club has played in the Categoría Primera B since 2007 after taking over the starting right of the club Pumas de Casanare . In the first two years, the club failed to get beyond the league phase. In 2009, 2010 and 2012 the club was able to reach the group stage three times without being able to qualify for a final. In all other seasons, the club did not make it into the group stage.

In 2011 Real Santander reached the quarter-finals of the Copa Colombia , in which he was eliminated against the first division club Atlético Nacional . Real Santander had an agreement with the Medellín club in 2011 that included the loan of young players in order to enable them to play.

In the 2014 season , Real Santander clearly missed reaching the final round in both half-series. In 2015 , the club was not much more successful and was 13th with 15 points behind the eighth place, which entitles to participate in the final round. A year later, only 14th place was achieved in 2016 .

Despite the poor results, the club has held on to coach Víctor Hugo González since December 2012 , who was also confirmed as coach for the 2017 season.

Apertura 2017 was the most successful half series in the club's history to date. In the league phase Real Santander was third and in the subsequent final round, the club reached the final, in which he was defeated Boyacá Chicó FC . The 2017 return series was less successful. Real Santander finished the league phase in twelfth place and missed the entry into the final round.

Real Santander ended the 2018 season in last place. In August 2018, long-time coach Víctor Hugo González resigned for family reasons. Nicolás Herazo was hired as his successor .

In October 2018, President Roberto Rodríguez announced his departure from Floridablanca for the 2019 season due to a lack of financial support, but without naming where the club was moving. On November 1st it was announced that the club was moving to San Andrés . The club will act as Real San Andrés from 2019.

As a coach for the season 2019 was José García Herrera committed. The club finished the Apertura in 14th place.
