Orsomarso SC , is a Colombian football club from Palmira , Valle del Cauca , founded in 2012 , which has played in the Primera B category since 2016 . The association is named after the Italian Comune Orsomarso .

history

Orsomarso SC was founded in 2012 and initially played in the non-professional third division of Colombia. In the 2016 season , the club bought the starting right from Uniautónoma FC . Orsomarso SC made his debut in professional Colombian football in February 2016 with a game against América de Cali for the Colombia Cup . The club lost the game played in Cali with 0: 2. Orsomarso played the first league game in Riohacha against Unión Magdalena . The game was won 2-0. The club finished the first season in 11th place, four points behind eighth place, which allowed them to participate in the final round. The season started with the coach William Libreros . From June 2016 Alex Escobar was in office as a trainer.

In the Apertura of the 2017 season Orsomarso reached the final round with an eighth place in the league phase, in which the club was eliminated against Deportes Quindío in the quarter-finals. In May it was announced that Alex Escobar would no longer coach Orsomarso. Under the successor José Gabriel Sangiovanni Orsomarso reached again in eighth the final round, in which the club was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Leones FC on penalties. In the 2018 season, Orsomarso clearly missed the finals as the penultimate one. Orsomarso finished last at Apertura 2019 .

Orsomarso SC plays its home games at the Estadio Francisco Rivera Escobar in Palmira. The stadium has a capacity of around 9,000 seats. The stadium will be expanded from 2017. The capacity after the renovation should be 16,500 spectators.
