The 1st PBC Hürth-Berrenrath 1970 eV is a pool club from the Berrenrath district of Hürth . The club is a multiple German champion in this sport.
history
The 1st PBC Hürth-Berrenrath was founded in 1970 as the 1st PBC Berrenrath 1970 eV . In the same year, the Berrenrather won the German Cup and were able to defend this title in 1971. In 1976 the PBC won the German team championship for the first time and was also the German cup winner in the same year . After the club had already played in the 1st Bundesliga between 2004 and 2012 and had become runner-up in 2008 , after relegation in 2012 , they were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in the following year. In the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons , the club finished fifth there, before finishing seventh in 2016 , eight points behind sixth-placed BC Queue Hamburg and thus relegated to the second division.
Ivo Aarts , Stephan Cohen , Axel Gerten , Dieter Johns and Julian Kortüm played in the Bundesliga team in the 2015/16 season .
