The 1st Bundesliga pool is the highest division in pool in Germany . Eight teams determine the German pool champion "Combi-Team", as well as the relegated team in the 2nd Bundesliga, on seven match days each round .
The Pool Bundesliga has existed in this form since 1991, previously only specific German team championships in the disciplines 8-ball (1974–1990) and 14/1 endless (1982–1990) were held.
Game mode
A game consists of two rounds in which one game in each of the four disciplines is played. No player is allowed to play the same discipline in both rounds.
The mode within a run has changed several times:
In the 2010/11 season, the 1st Bundesliga pool took place in the following mode within one round:
- 14/1 endless : 1 winning set, 200 points
- 8-Ball : 2 winning sets, 5 competitions (winner break)
- 9-Ball : 2 winning sets, 6 competitions (winner break)
- 10-Ball : 2 winning sets, 5 competitions (winner break)
Scoring for the matches in the table is based on the “3-point rule” (win: 3, draw: 1, defeat: 0).
In the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons, the following mode was used within one round:
- 14/1 endless : 1 winning set, 125 points
- 8-Ball : 3 winning sets of 3 competitions
- 9-Ball : 3 winning sets of 3 competitions
- 10-ball : 3 winning sets of 3 competitions
Since the 2013/14 season, the following mode has been in place within one round:
- 14/1 endless : 1 winning set, 125 points
- 8-ball : 2 winning sets of 4 competitions each
- 9-Ball : 2 winning sets of 4 competitions each
- 10-ball : 2 winning sets of 4 competitions each
In the short sentences, the winner break is played within a sentence and alternating break is played across the sentences.
The three-point rule still applies .
