The BSC Neukirchen / Geldern is a billiard club from Neukirchen-Vluyn . It was created in 2015 through the merger of the pool clubs BSC Neukirchen-Vluyn and 1st PBC Joker Geldern . Since 2017 he has been playing in the 1st Bundesliga .

Predecessor clubs

1. PBC Joker Geldern

The 1st pool billiard club Joker Geldern 76 eV was founded in 1976 in Geldern . He became German runner-up in 2004 and reached the final of the German 8-Ball Cup three times (2003, 2006, 2009). In 2011 Huidji See became 10-ball world champion as a member of the club . Further individual successes of players of the PBC Joker were the German championship title Harald Schröters ( 1989 ) and the winning of the Junior World Championship by Brian Naithani (2001). Since relegation in the 2006/07 season , Joker Geldern played in the 2nd Bundesliga , in which he was third in the 2014/15 season . Michau Jablonski , Dennis Jansen , Aziz Moussati , Nikko Springer , Marco Teutscher and, as a substitute, Roy Gerards played in the first team .

BSC Neukirchen-Vluyn

The BV Grafschafter Moers in 1991 in Moers founded. In 2004 he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga and reached the final of the German 8-Ball Cup , which was lost to BC Mölln . In the 2005/06 season he rose from the second division in eighth place. In 2008, BV Grafschafter Moers was dissolved and BSC Neukirchen-Vluyn was founded as the successor club. This made it to the top league in 2010 and reached the final of the German 8-Ball-Cup, which he lost 2: 5 against BSV Phönix . In the 2010/11 season, the club rose to second place in the Oberliga in the regional league, in which it was fifth in 2012 and 2013. After reaching fourth place in the 2013/14 season, relegation to the league followed in 2015 with seventh place.

In 2013, Guido Gerber , a BSC Neukirchen-Vluyn player, became the German senior champion .

In summer 2015 Joker Geldern and BSC Neukirchen-Vluyn merged to form BSC Neukirchen / Geldern. He took over Joker Geldern's starting position in the 2nd Bundesliga for the 2015/16 season . The first team was largely identical to the former second division team of the PBC Joker. In the first season after the merger, the team started with a 7-1 win against the second team of PBC Schwerte 87 . After three games without a win, they fell back to the relegation place before finishing fourth at the end of the first half of the season. In the second half of the season they defeated, among other things, the undefeated leaders PBC Sankt Augustin . Relegation was secured on the penultimate matchday by a home win against PBSG Wolfsburg .

In October 2016, BSC Neukirchen / Geldern reached the semi-finals of the German 8-Ball Cup and lost to Pool Brothers Deggendorf 1: 5. The club started the 2016/17 season with three wins. After the first half of the season, he finished second. At the start of the second half of the season, the third defeat of the season followed against local rivals Joker Kamp-Lintfort, which caused them to drop to fourth place. Then BSC Neukirchen / Geldern won five of the six remaining games of the season and secured promotion to the 1st Bundesliga on the last matchday with a 6-2 home win against BSG Osnabrück .

The team was strengthened in the summer of 2017. For example, Sven Pauritsch from the first division club PBC Schwerte 87 and Pole Wojciech Szewczyk moved to Neukirchen. In its first Bundesliga season , the club started with two defeats. The team achieved their first victory on matchday four at PBC Joker Altstadt (5-3). A week later, the club again reached the semi-finals of the German 8-Ball Cup, in which it was defeated by defending champion BSV Ergolding 2: 5. In the league they finished sixth at the end of the first half of the season after another away win against BV Mörfelden-Walldorf (5: 3) and two draws. During the second half of the season the Neukirchener remained without a win, but made three more draws and finished sixth at the end of the season. Relegation was certain after the penultimate match day when the team lost, but competitor Mörfelden-Walldorf also failed to score.

On the first match day of the 2018/19 season , the club achieved their first home win in the Bundesliga 5: 3 against promoted BC Siegtal 89, and the club ended the season as runner-up. In October 2018, the club moved into the final of the German 8-Ball Cup for the first time since the merger, but had to admit defeat to BC Jülich by a narrow 5-6.

The second team took over the starting place of BSC Neukirchen-Vluyn in the Oberliga Westfalen after the merger. In the 2015/16 season, the team, which was mainly formed from the former team from BSC Neukirchen-Vluyn, was promoted to the regional league as the undefeated first place. In the following season, however, they rose from sixth again in the league.
