32 teams, each consisting of at least four players, qualify for the German Cup team championship via the regional cups of the regional associations . There they then play in the knockout system . As in the Bundesliga Bundesliga , a match consists of eight games, four of which are played simultaneously. In contrast to the Bundesliga, however, only 8-ball is played. If there is a tie after eight games, two more games are played. If it is still a draw, there is an eleventh, decisive game.
