The PBC Schwerte 87 was founded in 1987. In 1990 the club, which until then had played billiards in a Schwerter café, moved to its current clubhouse in the Friedrich Kayser elementary school. A year later he rose after four ascents in a row in the association league, in 1993 followed by promotion to the league. In 1995 the club's youth team won the German championship. In the 1997/98 season, the PBC Schwerte achieved their first promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . In 1999 , Andreas Roschkowsky became a member of the Association of German Masters for the first time .

After two years in the second division, the team rose to the first division . After them there, among others, in 2002 and in 2003 the third and in 2004 reached the fourth place, she had climbed in the 2004/05 season in eighth place in the 2. Bundesliga from. There the PBC Schwerte was then three times third and in 2007, as second, tied on points with BSG Osnabrück , only just missed promotion before he finished seventh in the 2010/11 season and thus relegated to the regional league. There the club was third in 2012 and rose again to the second division a year later. In November 2013 he lost the final of the German 8-Ball Cup the SV Motor Babelsberg barely 3: 5th In 2014, in the 2nd Bundesliga, he made it through to the 1st Bundesliga with just one defeat. At the 8-Ball-Pokal 2014, the swords made it to the final again, but there followed a 2: 5 defeat against BSV Wuppertal . On the last day of the Bundesliga season 2014/15 , the club became German champions by beating BSV Fürstenfeldbruck . In October 2015, the swords made it into the final of the 8-Ball Cup for the third time in a row. In the new edition of the final of 2013 they prevailed 5: 3 against Babelsberg and thus won the competition for the first time. A little later Joshua Filler , who had already become six times European youth champion , became German champion in the disciplines 14/1 endless, 8-ball and 10-ball. In the Bundesliga, PBC Schwerte took third place in the 2015/16 season .

For the following season Joshua Filler left the club and moved to the newly promoted PBC Sankt Augustin . Former Asian champions Mohammad Soufi , who had fled to Germany a few months before the civil war in Syria, joined the Bundesliga team . At the German 8-Ball-Pokal 2016, PBC Schwerte retired as defending champion in the first round against BV Brotdorf . In December 2016, Filler terminated his contract in Sankt Augustin and returned to PBC Schwerte. Because of the club change, he was no longer allowed to be used in this league season. The team was consistently in the lower half of the table from the fifth game day, and after eleven game days even on a relegation zone. After she had only won twice before, she achieved three wins in a row by the end of the season. She secured relegation on the penultimate day of play with a home win against the already established German champions BSV Dachau . As the best player of the team, Mohammad Soufi was fourth in the individual ranking. In the 2017/18 season, Florian Züwert strengthened the 1st team, which delivered a solid 4th place. After Joshua Filler left, Tobias Bonger's swords won for the 2018/19 season. For the 2019/20 season, Klaudio Kerec will replace Florian Züwert in the Bundesliga team of PBC Schwerte.

In the 2007/08 season, the second team of PBC Schwerte 87 rose to the league in which they had previously played for several years. There she was fourth in 2010 and third in 2011, before the eighth place only barely managed to stay in the league in the following two years. In the 2013/14 season she came first with only one defeat and thus rose to the regional league. With first place in the 2014/15 season, they managed to get promoted directly to the 2nd Bundesliga , in which third place was taken in the following season . In October 2016, the team reached the semi-finals of the German 8-Ball Cup and lost 2: 5 to the eventual cup winner BSV Ergolding . The first team, however, was eliminated in the first round. As the bottom of the table in the 2016/17 season , the second team was relegated to the regional league. Here the 2nd team played unchanged in the following years always in the top third for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. The regional league team was strengthened for the 2019/20 season by returnees Sven Pauritsch and Thomas Seiffert.
