Jörn Kaplan (born April 15, 1981 ) is a German pool player . He is a two-time German individual champion .
Career
At the German championship in 2002 , Kaplan achieved fifth place in the 8-ball, his best result so far at a German championship . In 2003 he was able to repeat this result, also in 8-ball, in 2004 he was endless in 14/1 and fifth in 8-ball and took 13th place in 9-ball .
At the German Open 2005, Kaplan won his only medal in a Euro Tour tournament after his semi-finals . In 2006 he became German champion for the first time in 8-ball. At the Italy Open 2006 he was eliminated in the second round against Niels Feijen , at the Austria Open 2006 in the sixteenth final against Christian Reimering . In the same year he also made it to the last 64 at the 9-Ball World Championship , where he lost 7:10 to David Alcaide .
At the European Championships in 2007 he lost endlessly in the 14/1 only in the quarter-finals against later European champion Niels Feijen with 50: 125. He also reached the quarter-finals at the Czech Open 2007 , where he lost to Konstantin Stepanow . In the same year, Kaplan was also able to successfully defend his 8-ball title at the German championship . In 2008 he took 13th place.
In the 2008/09 season Kaplan was German team champion with BC Sindelfingen . With 22: 6 games he and his teammates Benjamin Baier and Marco Tschudi took first place in the individual ranking. In 2010 Kaplan reached his last quarter-finals of a German championship in 8-Ball. He lost this against Martin Steinlage 6: 9.
Private
Jörn Kaplan has been married to the pool player Ina Kaplan since 2012 and has one child with her.
