Niels Feijen (born February 3, 1977 in The Hague ) is a Dutch pool player .

Career

His greatest success so far was at the World Cup in 14 and 1 endless in 2008 , where he clearly defeated Francisco Bustamante in the final . In the same year he reached the semi-finals at the first official 10-Ball World Cup .

In 2005 and 2007 he reached third place at the 8-ball World Cup and can also boast a third place at the US Open . He has won the European Pool Billiards Championship in 14 and 1 endless four times (2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007 ). In addition, he became vice European 8-ball champion in 2004 and has already won ten tournaments on the Euro Tour , most recently in 2013 at the Dutch Open in 2016 .

In total, he has won more than 30 professional tournaments in his career and is also a multiple national champion. Together with Nick van den Berg , he was part of the Dutch team at the World Cup of Pool from 2006 to 2010 , although never more than one quarter-finals ( 2009 ). When they participated again in 2013 they made it into the finals for the first time, where they were defeated by the team from the Philippines with 8:10. In 2014 they reached the final again, but lost to the Englishmen Darren Appleton and Karl Boyes .

At the 8-Ball World Championships in 2010 and 2011 , he made it to the final, but lost to Karl Boyes and Dennis Orcollo .

In 2014 Feijen succeeded in becoming world champion at the 9-ball World Cup by winning the final against the Austrian Albin Ouschan . It was his first world title in 9-ball and his second overall. Before that, he was European champion in 9-ball and 14/1 endless at the EM 2014 . In October 2016, he won the American 14.1 Championship by beating Mika Immonen in the final 150: 114 .

He has also been part of the European team at the Mosconi Cup twelve times , most recently in 2016 , and won it eight times. Feijen has been named Most Valuable Player of the Mosconi Cup four times ( 2011 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 ) and is the only player besides Mika Immonen ( 2003 , 2008 ) to receive this award more than once.

His nickname in the billiards scene is The Terminator .
