Mosconi Cup 2016

The Betfair Mosconi Cup 2016 (also: Mosconi Cup XXIII ) was a pool tournament in the 9-ball discipline , which took place from December 6th to 9th, 2016 at Alexandra Palace in London . It was the 23rd edition of the tournament named after Willie Mosconi , in which a European team plays against an American one.

The European team defeated the USA team 11: 3. It was Europe's seventh victory in a row and the eleventh overall. The European team drew level with the USA in terms of the number of wins and replaced the previous record series of the USA, which had won six times in a row from 1996 to 2001 .

The Austrian Albin Ouschan was named Most Valuable Player for the first time in his second Mosconi Cup participation .
