Jatznick village church

The Protestant village church Jatznick is a field stone church in Jatznick , a municipality in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , it is in the street of the unit.

history

The exact date of construction of the sacred building is not known. The municipality of Jatznick gives the 14th century as the construction date, but at the same time points out that a church was not mentioned until 1644, so that a previous building could have existed. This fits in with Ernst von Haselberg's research , who specifies the 17th century as the construction time. In Dehio -Handbuch is only from Nachmittelalter spoken. During the Second Northern War , the building burned down except for the tower and the side walls of the nave . The reconstruction was completed with the new church consecration on August 20, 1724. In 1762 the left church the west tower grow. The interior was renovated in 1910 by adding a new beamed ceiling and restoring the original painting. After the fall of the Wall , in 1990/1991, the building was extensively renovated. In the official gazette of the Pomeranian Evangelical Congregation of September 1, 1999 it says: “The parishes of Blumenhagen , Groß Luckow , Klein Luckow and Groß Spiegelberg with the parish of Jatznick and the associated districts of Waldeshöhe, Belling and Sandförde [are] permanently connected under the parish office of Jatznick . "Jatznick heard in the 2010s church organization to provost Pasewalk.

architecture

Nave

The structure was built from field stones , which have a rectangular floor plan measuring 20 meters in length and about 9.60 meters wide. They were then plastered , so that no statement can be made about the location without further investigations. Field stones can only be seen in the roughly plastered, surrounding base area. On the north and south sides there are two pressed-segment-arch-shaped windows that extend almost the entire height of the nave. On the south side there is a wooden, arched and simple gate. Like the windows, it is decorated with a bottle . The choir is straight, also plastered, and has two smaller, beehive-shaped windows with a beehive. There are two circular openings in the gable. The saddle roof of the nave is covered with tiles.

tower

The square west tower in front of it is plastered in the lower area and has no windows except for two small segment arched openings on the north and south sides. It is accessed through an arched, simple portal. The timber-framed tower top was built below the eaves level . In the middle there are two rectangular, simple sound arcades on each side, followed by a clock attached above. The ringing consists of three bells : the big one dates from 1729, two smaller ones bear the inscription: AVS DEM FEVR I AM I FLOSSED M. ROLOFF CLASSEN BELLENGIESSER ZV STETTIN HAS POURED ME Ao 1607 ( From the fire I flowed, M. Roloff Classen, bell founder in Stettin, cast me in 1607 ). This means that the smaller bells are older and either were saved from the first house of God or come from another church. The pent roof of the church building is covered with roof tiles. The tower hood is curved and ends with a tower ball and a weather vane .

Furnishing

View into the nave

The interior is mainly from 1733. The pulpit altar was built in the first half of the 18th century and consists of a simple column structure painted white and gray. Further fittings include two around 30 cm high pewter altar candlesticks from 1724. Between a blasted gable is the eye of providence . The base of the pulpit is decorated with acanthus , as are the four lower coffers . Above this, a bishop and three figures of saints from around 1500 are attached in the four rectangular fields between columns . The hexagonal fifth was made of wood, in which a brass basin is embedded. The horseshoe gallery , decorated with floral elements , on which the organ is installed, is also made of wood. The flat ceiling of the building is made of natural wood, the supporting beams are decorated with ornaments.
