Groß Luckow is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in the east of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). The community belongs to the Uecker-Randow-Tal district with its seat in the town of Pasewalk .

geography

Groß Luckow lies on the state border with Brandenburg in an undulating ground moraine landscape . The area is predominantly agricultural. The distance to the city of Pasewalk is twelve kilometers, to Strasburg (Uckermark) about eight kilometers. West of the community on the border with the state of Brandenburg is the dementia lake .

Grpß Luckow is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Jatznick in the north and east, Uckerland in the south and west and Strasburg (Uckermark) in the north-west.

history

The Groß Luckow estate was owned by the von Raven family from 1198 to 1945 .

On July 25, 1952, Groß Luckow was detached from the Brandenburg district of Prenzlau , which was Prussian until 1945 , and assigned to the Pasewalk district in the Neubrandenburg district .

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag . The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the region of Western Pomerania . It shows an erect griffin with a raised tail and the inscription "GEMEINDE GROSS LUCKOW * LANDKREIS VORPOMMERN-GREIFSWALD".

Groß Luckow manor (2010)

• The Groß Luckow church is a stone church from the second half of the 13th century. Inside there is, among other things, an altarpiece from 1623.
• Manor house, built in neo-baroque style in 1912 (today holiday apartments and event rooms) and an associated landscape park.

Federal Autobahn 20 passes south of Groß Luckow . In the neighboring village of Blumenhagen there is a rail connection ( route Neubrandenburg - Stettin ).
