history

Altwigshagen

Altwigshagen was founded as a manor settlement over 700 years ago, making it the oldest municipality in the Torgelow-Ferdinandshof office. It was an old fiefdom of the von Schwerin family , but then came into the possession of the von Borcke family , who were mainly based in Western Pomerania. In the Altwigshagen church there are still two epitaphs of the family from 1689 and 1747. The latter belongs to Georg Heinrich von Borcke (1686–1747), a Prussian lieutenant general.

The village has been able to keep its calm character. Worth mentioning are the listed buildings in the town center and the swimming lake at the castle park.

Charlottenhorst

Charlottenhorst was first mentioned in a document in 1812. It was laid out as a Vorwerk to Gut Putzar.

Charlottenhorst is located on the Großer Landgraben and the Lübkowsee, both of which form the border between Mecklenburg and Pomerania.

According to MTB 1880 ( measuring table sheet ), the place only consisted of the Vorwerkshof at the time. This no longer exists today, the place became a living space.

Finkenbrück

The part of the municipality Finkenbrück was set up as a Prussian-Western Pomeranian customs station, later as a post office.

Wietstock

The place was first mentioned in a document as "Wizoch" in 1236. Wietstock is a Slavic foundation, as the name ("Wizoch" = the high village) shows.
