The Torgelow-Ferdinandshof office was formed on January 1, 2005 from the former Ferdinandshof office and the formerly free city of Torgelow . In the Torgelow-Ferdinandshof office, six municipalities and the city of Torgelow (official seat) are united to handle their administrative business. The office is located in the southern part of the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and borders with the southern tip of the state of Brandenburg .
On 1 January 2011, the formerly independent municipality was Wietstock after Altwigshagen incorporated. On May 25, 2014, the Heinrichsruh community and the Torgelow-Holländerei community, which previously belonged to the Am Stettiner Haff district , were incorporated into Torgelow.
The official area is mainly characterized by agricultural and craft structures, the proximity to the Szczecin Lagoon harbors further tourist potential.

The office does not have an officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag . The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the region of Western Pomerania . It shows an upright griffin with a raised tail and the inscription "AMT TORGELOW-FERDINANDSHOF * LANDKREIS VORPOMMERN-GREIFSWALD".
