Location in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Heinrichsruh is a district of the town of Torgelow in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in eastern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).

geography

The area around Heinrichsruh in the south-western area of the Ueckermünder Heide , a wooded flat land, is characterized by little relief (altitudes over 20 m above sea level are the exception). The soils are mostly sandy. The place lies between the core town of Torgelow and the municipality of Ferdinandshof .

The places Müggenburg and Müggenburger Teerofen originally belonged to Heinrichsruh .

history

The place was initially called Heinrichsruhe. In 1752 Christoph Ludwig Henrici owned the place, expanded the estate and built the still existing manor house that year. But he had received the condition to settle 30 colonists there. This happened with the draining of the area between the Friedländer Große Wiese and the Ueckermünder Heide on behalf of the Prussian kings Friedrich Wilhelm I and Friedrich the Great . In 1774, the long lease of the estate was newly contractually regulated. At that time August Ludwig Henrici was the landlord. In 1836 the lease of the Dominial was converted into free property. Now the Henrici heirs decided to sell the property to the highest bidder. The property went to inspector Eduard Schmidt and the place was counted among the knighthood, this had tax implications.

In 1865 the place had a mansion, a school, 33 residential and 31 farm buildings, as well as 323 residents in 76 families. The inhabitants were mostly Büdner and wage workers.

In 1865 there was also a residential area called Heinrichsruh, which consisted of a brick factory in the middle of the forest with a residential and a farm building. Only the bricklayer lived there with his wife. The living space did not belong to the knightly place Heinrichsruh, but to Torgelow.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Müggenburg was incorporated.

The appearance of Heinrichsruh has changed since the political change. Streets, sidewalks and street lighting were renewed and a fairground was built. In addition, the place has now become an attractive address for the construction of single-family homes in natural locations. The demographic development of the place is positive due to the arrival of young families.

On May 25, 2014 Heinrichsruh was incorporated into Torgelow.

coat of arms

Heinrichsruh coat of arms
Blazon : “In silver a green spot with a fallen golden linden leaf; a green shield foot, inside a golden wine glass, on each side an upright green yew branch with two red fruits. "

The coat of arms and the flag were designed by Michael Zapfe from Weimar . It was approved on August 9, 2002 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under the number 266 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Justification of the coat of arms: The coat of arms takes up determining elements of the economic development and natural features of the place with its motifs. The wine glass is intended to indicate the origin of the place, the construction of a new glassworks and the settlement of glass workers and colonists. According to the design principle of the pars pro toto, the linden leaf stands for the linden trees that characterize the townscape , while the yew branches symbolize the over 250-year-old yew trees in the baroque estate park. In the coat of arms, the letter "H" created by the location and the shield base refers to the community name.

flag

The flag is striped lengthways in white, green and white. The white stripes are two ninths each, the green stripe five ninths the height of the flag cloth. In the middle of the green stripe is the municipal coat of arms, one ninth of the height of the two white stripes. The length of the flag is related to the height as 5: 3.

In Heinrichsruh, the almost dilapidated baroque manor house with the associated park was restored. The "Vorpommersche Künstlerhaus" has had its domicile there since 2000. From 1997 students, artists, scientists, craftsmen and others volunteered to make this project a reality. In addition to a lithography workshop , the house now offers concerts, readings, baroque operas, master classes, masked balls and exhibitions. A special sight is the painting of the ballroom by Claudia Hauptmann .
