history
In 1302 the place is mentioned for the first time with Theodericus dictus Papendorp in a Pomeranian document.
In 1950 Papendorf was detached from the Brandenburg district of Prenzlau , which was Prussian until 1945 , and assigned to the Pasewalk district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. From July 25, 1952 Papendorf then belonged to the newly formed district of Neubrandenburg .
After the war ended in 1945, the population of Papendorf was expelled from the village by the Red Army . The buildings were used as residential buildings by the occupying forces, which had taken over the Pasewalk military airfield nearby, until autumn 1945. Numerous residents were either deported or imprisoned in the USSR . The large farmer and district farmer of the NSDAP Paul Bandelow was in prison until 1952. Like all large farmers, he was expropriated and after his release from prison he fled to the west to Blomberg . The large farmer Carl Bandelow disappeared without a trace after his arrest. Most of the residents were able to return to Papendorf later.
