Krugsdorf is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in eastern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The community is administered by the Uecker-Randow-Tal office based in the nearby town of Pasewalk .

geography

Krugsdorf is located between the Uecker and Randowbruch in a forest and water-rich area ( Ueckermünder Heide , nature reserve Großer Koblentzer See ). The city of Pasewalk is six kilometers away.

Krugsdorf is surrounded by the neighboring communities Viereck in the north, Koblentz in the east, Zerrenthin in the south, Polzow in the southwest and Pasewalk in the west.

Districts

The Funkhaus and Schwichtensee residential areas also exist .

history

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Rothenburg was incorporated.

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag . The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the region of Western Pomerania . It shows an upright griffin with a raised tail and the inscription "GEMEINDE KRUGSDORF * LANDKREIS VORPOMMERN-GREIFSWALD".

Attractions

The village church Krugsdorf was built at the end of the 17th / beginning of the 18th century. It is a half-timbered building with a three-sided east end and a western roof tower with a curved dome. Inside the church there is a panel painting that was probably made around 1600. It shows the sermon of John the Baptist and is influenced by Dutch . Krugsdorf was a parish in the Protestant parish of Koblentz until the middle of the 20th century and is now part of the parish Zerrenthin in the Pasewalk parish of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church (seat: Greifswald ). On the Catholic side , Krugsdorf is incorporated into the parish of Pasewalk-Strasburg-Viereck in Pasewalk and belongs to the Deanery of Western Pomerania (seat: Greifswald) in the Archdiocese of Berlin .

Transport links

The nearest train station is in the neighboring town of Zerrenthin, three kilometers away, on the Bützow – Szczecin railway line , where the 104 federal highway runs from Pasewalk to Szczecin (former German Reichsstraße 104 , the one from Lübeck via Stettin to Schneidemühl (Polish: Piła) and later to Plöhnen (Płońsk) led).
