Location of the municipality Vogelsang-Warsin in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district | ||
Vogelsang-Warsin (until December 9, 1995 only Vogelsang ) is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in the far east of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany). The community is administered by the Am Stettiner Haff office based in Eggesin .
geography
The double community is located in the northern part of the Ueckermünder Heide , an extensive flat forest area. The western shore of Lake Neuwarper on the border with Poland is about four kilometers from Vogelsang-Warsin. Warsin, the smaller of the two districts, is located just under a kilometer northeast of Vogelsang on the south bank of the Szczecin Lagoon, which is surrounded by reeds . The closest town of Ueckermünde is seven kilometers away.
history

In 1324 the originally Slavic local foundations Warsin and Vogelsang appear in a deed of division between the von Muckerwitz and von Bröcker families . After the Muckerwitzer family died out in 1575, part of the Vogelsang estate fell to the Ueckermünde office .
The von Broecker family held the rest until the 17th century. The Thirty Years' War also left a trail of devastation in the villages of Vogelsang and Warsin. After 90 years partly in Swedish ownership, e.g. B. Family von Lilljenström and von Wadenstein, Vogelsang changed in 1723 as fiefdom from Friedrich II to Bernd Friedrich von Enckevort . In 1828 the Enckevorts built the hereditary burial, which is now a listed building. In 1847, Eduard Friedrich von Enckevort had the manor house (palace) built in a classicist style with neo-Gothic elements according to plans by the Berlin architect Eduard Knoblauch (1801–1865), a student of Schinkel . The Enckevorts remained the landlords until 1914, the landlord fell in World War I and the family had to give up the estate. After the First World War the manor house became Landschulheim and in 1934 Gauleiter Schwede-Coburg set up a training camp for civil servants under his name. After a fire in 1936, the house was rebuilt in a simplified manner. The neo-Gothic elements (pinnacles) were removed and the mansion was given a simple appearance.
In Vogelsang and Warsin mainly farmers lived, in Warsin fishing also played a role. Around the middle of the 19th century, two merchant ships were based in Vogelsang. At the end of the 19th century, in addition to small craft workshops, a brick factory was built. Due to the location on the Szczecin Lagoon , one sees further tourist potential in the community.
On January 1, 1951, Altwarp was spun off again from the Vogelsang community, into which it had been incorporated on July 1, 1950.
In the 1990s, a housing estate was built on the site of the former brickworks.

coat of arms
Blazon : “In green on a blue corrugated shield base covered with two silver corrugated strips, a silver field stone wall, in the middle of which a two-storey silver tower with an open gate, on the sides with decorative ribbons, with a curved black hood and a silver lantern crowned by a black pointed hood and a silver knob ; accompanied: on the right by a silver oak leaf, on the left by a silver ear of corn with black awns. "
The coat of arms and the flag were designed by Gerhard Koggelmann from Sagard . It was approved together with the flag on June 7, 2001 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under the number 244 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. |
|
Explanation of the coat of arms: In the coat of arms, the gate tower marks the listed building on the one hand, and on the other it is intended to remind of that of Enkevorts, who determined the development of the places for a long time. The base of the corrugated shield and the corrugated strips refer to the location of the municipality on the Stettiner Haff, and the number of corrugated strips to both districts. The oak leaf symbolizes the oaks standing in the cemetery, the grain ear the main livelihood of the inhabitants, agriculture. |
flag
The flag of the municipality shows the colors green, white and blue in three longitudinal stripes of equal width. In the middle of the flag is the municipal coat of arms, which takes up two thirds of the flag height, with the upper and lower part of the coat of arms, which protrudes into the green and blue fabric, surrounded by a white bar border. Height and length of the flag are related to each other like 3: 5.
Official seal
The official seal shows the municipal coat of arms with the inscription "GEMEINDE VOGELSANG-WARSIN".
