Neuwarper See

The Neuwarper See , also Warper See ( Polish Jezioro Nowowarpieńskie ) is a bay on the south coast of the Szczecin Lagoon . It extends about six kilometers inland and has two narrow entrances to the lagoon in the north, each only 150 meters wide and divided by a small reed island.

The west and south banks of the bay belong to the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , the east bank to the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship ( Police district ). The municipalities of Altwarp and Luckow , district Rieth , as well as Nowe Warpno ( Neuwarp ) and the Neuwarper districts Podgrodzie ( old town ) and Karszno ( Albrechtsdorf ) are located on Lake Neuwarper See . The island of Riether Werder , 0.83 km² in size, is located in the German part of the Neuwarper See and, like the entire shore between Altwarp and Rieth, is a nature reserve . The island of Łysa Wyspa ( Kahleberg ) is located in the Polish part.

Passenger ferries operate all year round between Altwarp and Neuwarp (6 connections each from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).
