The Riether Werder , also Riethscher Werder , is an island in the Neuwarper See , a bay in the Stettiner Haff . It is the only Haffinsel on German territory.

The first documented mention of the island comes from the year 1252, when Duke Barnim I of Pomerania gave the Eldena monastery, among other things, this island, for which the Slavic name Wozstro is given. The current name of the island is derived from the village of Rieth on the south bank of the lake .

The island belongs to the municipality of Luckow in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the extreme northeast of Germany. As a bird island, it is of national importance. It is 0.79 km² and is located about 1 km from the south and west banks of the Neuwarper See. The sea border with the Republic of Poland runs directly on the eastern tip of the island .

Rare bird species such as the common tern or the common snipe can be found here. White-tailed eagles , meadow harriers , marsh harriers , red kites , black kites , kestrels , tree hawks , wasp buzzards and buzzards are also native here. Entering the island is forbidden, it belongs to the nature reserve Altwarper Binnendünen, Neuwarper See and Riether Werder like the west bank of the Neuwarper See .
