The small uninhabited island Beuchel is where to complaints belonging Neuendorfer Wiek , a few hundred meters from the coast of Rügen removed. The Baltic Sea island is about 400 meters long, 150 meters wide and has a surface of only about seven hectares. It has the shape of a kidney , is flat and treeless. The island belongs to the municipality of Neuenkirchen .

Since 1940, Beuchel has been designated as a nature reserve due to the numerous breeding or resting birds here , so that it is generally not allowed to be entered.
