The uninhabited small island of Balmer Werder in Lake Balmer , the southeastern part of the backwater , is northeast of the village of Balm . Balm belongs to the municipality of Benz in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The island is 6.3 hectares in size, 500 meters long in the north-south extension and 200 meters wide at its widest point. Its height above sea level is 5.9 meters.
The Balmer Werder is located together with the smaller island Böhmke in a nature reserve established in 1967 in the Usedom Island Nature Park .
