Grambow is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in the east of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). It belongs to the Löcknitz-Penkun office with its seat in the municipality of Löcknitz .

geography

The municipality of Grambow is located in the ground moraine area between the Randowbruch on the state border with Brandenburg and the lower Oder valley near Stettin (Szczecin). The hilly terrain reaches 75 m above sea level. NN (southeast of Ladenthin).

Grambow is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ramin in the north, Kołbaskowo in the east, Nadrensee in the south, Krackow in the southwest and Glasow in the west.

history

At the beginning of 1930 Grambow was still a rural municipality in the Randow district . It consisted of the three districts of Grambow, Grambow station and Grambow steam mill.

On January 1, 1951, the previously independent communities Schwennenz and Sonnenberg were incorporated.

According to the 2011 census , the community has a share of foreigners of 12.4%, all of whom are Polish citizens .

Coat of arms, flag, official seal

The municipality has no officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag . The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the region of Western Pomerania . It shows an upright griffin with a raised tail and the inscription "GEMEINDE GRAMBOW * LANDKREIS VORPOMMERN-GREIFSWALD".

Attractions

Grambow village church
  • In the municipality of Grambow there is a village church made of field stones that is several hundred years old.
  • Characteristic for the districts of Ladenthin, Schwennenz and Sonnenberg are the more than 700 year old stone churches .
  • The Hägesee silting moor biotope is in the vicinity.
  • With a 300-year-old mulberry tree, Grambow has a special natural monument.

Transport links

The federal road 113 runs through the municipality of Grambow .

The Grambow station is about 500 meters northeast of the main town on the Bützow – Szczecin railway line and is the last before the Polish border .

A few hundred meters east of the Schwennenz district is a border crossing for pedestrians to Bobolin ( Boblin )
