Adrian von Enckevort

Adrian Bernd Friedrich von Enckevort (born November 17, 1840 in Vogelsang ; † December 30, 1898 ibid) was a Prussian officer and politician as well as lord of the manor of Vogelsang in Pomerania ; he came from the old noble family of those von Enckevort (in different historical spellings).

Adrian von Enckevort was a son of Eduard Friedrich von Enckevort (1808-1883) and his wife Louise Alexandrine Balcke (1818-1876). He attended high schools in Anklam , Breslau and Greifswald . After graduating from high school, he studied law at the universities of Heidelberg and Berlin from 1860 to 1863 . He belonged to the Corps Vandalia Heidelberg .

From 1861 to 1862 he did military service in the 2nd Guard Dragoon Regiment in Berlin . At the end of 1864 he went to the 3rd Battalion of the Pomeranian Landwehr Regiment No. 2 in Anklam as a second lieutenant in the cavalry . In 1866 he was assigned to the newly created 4th Heavy Cavalry Regiment in the province of Posen , with whom he entered Austria as an occupation force during the war in 1866 . In 1869 he was commanded as a reserve officer to the Cuirassier Regiment "Queen" (Pomeranian) No. 2 , with whom he went to the Franco-German War in 1870/71 . He took part in the battles at Colombey and Gravelotte . During the siege of Metz he fell from his horse, injured his leg and was transferred to the replacement squadron in Pasewalk . In 1872 he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant and in 1878 to Rittmeister of the Reserve. When he left military service in 1882, he received permission to wear the uniform. Kaiser Wilhelm II promoted him to major on the occasion of his visit to Stettin in 1892 .

Adrian von Enckevort became an auscultator in 1863 . He had passed his legal traineeship in Stettin in 1865 and took over his father's manor Albrechtsdorf . In 1883, through his father's will, he became the second entrant at Vogelsang.

He was head of office, member of the district council of the Ueckermünder district and the district committee. As district deputy, he was the district administrator's representative. He was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Pomerania . In 1879 he was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Stettin 1 (Demmin, Anklam, Usedom-Wollin, Ueckermünde) . There he joined the Conservative Party . In 1896 he became a member of the Prussian manor house , to which he belonged until his death, upon presentation of the old and fortified properties in the Duchy of Stettin .

Adrian von Enckefort was a legal knight of the Order of St. John , holder of the Order of the Red Eagle and the Landwehr service award, 1st class. He was very interested in seafaring and was the skipper of his own steam yacht. In the Imperial Yacht Club he cultivated friendships with numerous admirals .

He married on August 5, 1865 in Anklam Hildegard von Borcke from the Heinrichshof family (* June 24, 1845, † January 21, 1916). The two had a son, who died a few months after he was born, and six daughters, including:
