Wilhelm Ludwig August von Schöning (born August 7, 1824 in Terminals , Pyritz district , † May 10, 1902 in Stargard in Pomerania ) was a German administrative lawyer , landowner and parliamentarian in the Kingdom of Prussia . Before and after the founding of the German Empire , he was a member of the Reichstag for 17 years .

family

He came from the Pomeranian noble family von Schöning and was the son of Wilhelm von Schöning (1797–1862), lord of the manor at Gut Klemm, and Auguste von dem Borne (1801–1862). He married on October 12, 1848 in Stargard Pauline Wilde (* 1826 in Stargard; † 1909 there), the daughter of high school professor Wilhelm Wilde and Pauline Sturm.

Life

Schöning studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and in 1844 became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . He started as a court trainee in Stettin in 1852 and switched from the administration of justice to the internal administration of Prussia. From 1855 to 1876 he was district administrator in the Pyritz district . During this time he was elected in 1862, 1864 and 1873 by the knighthood of the Pyritz district as a deputy member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Pomerania (15th, 16th and 20th Provincial Parliament). As a member of the Conservative Party , he sat in the Prussian House of Representatives from 1866 to 1870 . In February 1867 he was elected to the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation , also for the Conservative or German Conservative Party .

Schöning was a landlord at Klemm , Ückerhof , Muscherin and Sallentin . He was first lieutenant in the Prussian Army and knight of the Order of St. John . In 1876 he became a member of the Prussian manor house , to which he belonged until his death in 1902, upon presentation of the old and fortified properties in the Duchy of Stettin .
