Adolph von Schlieffen

Adolph Ludwig Graf von Schlieffen (born June 15, 1841 on Gut Golzenruh , Arnswalde district ; † March 29, 1916 on Gut Sandow near Arnswalde ) was a German administrative officer and manor owner.

origin

His parents were the Prussian major Friedrich Werner Ernst Leo von Schlieffen (* July 2, 1802; † February 28, 1874) and his wife, Freiin Virginie Charlotte von Schlieffen (* April 28, 1817; † July 12, 1904). His brother Limbrecht (* 1852) was a Prussian infantry general.

Life

He studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1863 he became a member of the Corps Hansea Bonn . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. From 1877 to 1906 he was district administrator of the Pyritz district . Schlefen was chamberlain and entails owner in Sandow near Pyritz .

family

Schlieffen married Luise Rosalie Ida Wilhelmine Ludolfine Marie Hermine von Heyden-Linden on August 9, 1881 (* June 4, 1860). The couple had several children:

  • Alexander (Axel) Leo Carl Heinrich Maximilian (* July 11, 1882 - September 19, 1918), killed at Gouzeanecourt ⚭ 1911 Countess Elisabeth von der Goltz (* February 3, 1889) (remarried in 1920 to Lieutenant Colonel Ferdinand Müller)
  • Dorothea Klara Minka (born April 19, 1885) ⚭ 1918 Max Heyland, director of the overland control center "Light and Power" in Borna near Leipzig
  • Elisabeth Karoline (born September 30, 1889)
