August Peter von Schöning

August Peter von Schöning (born March 12, 1780 in Ückerhof , Pyritz district ; † November 30, 1858 in Stargard in Pomerania ; full name August Peter Friedrich Sigmund von Schöning ) was a Prussian district administrator .

Life

He was the eldest son of the landowner and district administrator August Ernst von Schöning and his wife Friedrike Amalie von Papstein . The von Schöning family is one of the oldest noble families in Pomerania. He initially received private tuition at home, then attended the Realschule in Berlin, which later became the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Gymnasium , and then studied law and camera studies at the Brandenburg University in Frankfurt .

In 1801 he became a trainee lawyer at the government in Stettin, 1802 trainee lawyer at the Pomeranian War and Domain Chamber and in March 1804 an assessor at the chamber.

When his father resigned from the office of district administrator for the Pyritz district , August Peter von Schöning was elected as his successor by the district estates in June 1804. After the death of his father in 1807 he took over the paternal estates of Ückerhof , Suckow an der Plöne and Muscherin . In 1817 he established the Schöningsburg estate near Suckow . In addition to his office as district administrator, he was appointed secret councilor and member of the government college in Stettin in 1827. In 1848 he resigned as district administrator. On that occasion he was given the title of Real Secret Senior Councilor.

August Peter von Schöning was a member of the Pomeranian Provincial Parliament from 1824 to 1854. He was elected to the 1st and 2nd Provincial Parliament (1824 and 1827) as a member of the rural communities of the Greifenhagen district , the Pyritz district and the Saatzig district. In the 3rd to 13th Provincial Diet (1831 to 1856) he then sat as a representative of the knighthood. In the 3rd to 13th provincial parliament he was appointed deputy chairman.
