Georg Christoph von Blanckensee was a member of the noble Blanckensee family , his father Wulff Christoph von Blanckensee was a colonel and commandant of Wismar . After studying law for three years at the University of Frankfurt (Oder) , Georg Christoph von Blanckensee joined the Prussian army. Here he was promoted to lieutenant in the Dragoons Regiment Bayreuth until he left for health reasons. In 1736 he became a councilor in the Pomeranian government. He inherited his father's estate in Schönwerder in 1745 after his brother's death.

In 1760 he became district administrator of the Pomeranian district of Pyritz as the successor to David Vincenz von Braunschweig . His argument with the Pomeranian War and Domain Chamber about the delimitation of the competences of the district administrator and chamber has been handed down; this culminated in his resignation, since the Chamber's view of the office of the District Administrator endangered his conscience and his honest name . Ultimately, the superior general directorate reprimanded both sides, Blanckensee remained in office, but received a sharp reprimand.

In 1772, serious allegations were made against Blanckensee from the district because of his administration. Blanckensee then resigned, his successor as district administrator was Joachim Abraham von Oesterling .

Since 1775 Blanckensee belonged to the Freemasons . He died in 1781.

Georg Christoph von Blanckensee was the heir to Schönwerder , Hohenwalde , Alt Damerow and Hohengrape . He sold the first two goods in 1765, but got them back because the buyer did not pay the full purchase price.
