history

The megalithic graves near Schöningsburg date from prehistoric times .

Schöningsburg was laid out in 1817 by the landlord of Suckow ad Plöne , District Administrator August Peter von Schöning . When the landlord and peasant conditions were regulated (see Prussian Agrarian Constitution ) in Suckow, the 17 farmers from Suckow ceded half of their land to the manor. In addition to his manor in Suckow, August Peter von Schöning set up a new farm to manage the land he took over. This, south-east of Suckow a little outside the village, was given the place name "Schöningsburg" after the noble owner family Schöning through a rescript of the Prussian Ministry of the Interior dated June 25, 1817 .

Schöningsburg was separated from Suckow under local law and in the land and mortgage register and became a separate estate district and a separate property tax collection district. Schöningsburg became a fiefdom , but could not be included in the manor register because it was laid out on formerly rural areas.

In the middle of the 19th century, Schöningsburg had 11 inhabitants. The estate comprised 1,535 acres of land, of which 1,034 acres were arable land. The 1871 census counted 9 residents in 2 families.

Schöningsburg remained in the possession of the Schöning family until it had to be auctioned off together with the Suckow and Lübenow estates in 1932 .

Before 1945 Schöningsburg formed a place to live in the rural community of Suckow ad Plöne and belonged with this to the Pyritz district in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

In 1945 Schöningsburg, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. It received the Polish place name "Karsko". Today it belongs to the Gmina Przelewice (Prillwitz municipality) .
