history

The first written mention of the village comes from the year 1236. At that time, Duke Heinrich I of Silesia confirmed the donation of the village, which was then called "Lascoue", by one of his vassals named Johannes Magnus to the Kolbatz monastery . Later the village appeared in confirmations of ownership for the Kolbatz monastery, for example in 1240 under the spelling "Lyeskoue" in a confirmation by Duke Barnim I of Pomerania and in 1242 under the spelling "Leschowe" in a confirmation by the margraves Johann I. and Otto III. of Brandenburg.

Until 1945, Groß Latzkow formed a rural community in the Pyritz district of the Pomerania province . The community had 273 inhabitants in 1933 and 262 inhabitants in 1939. In addition to Groß Latzkow, the community also included Dorotheenthal and Freiburg .

In 1945 Groß Latzkow came to Poland, like all of Western Pomerania. The Polish place name was set as "Laskowo".
