Rodney Morris (born November 25, 1970 in Anaheim , California ) is an American pool player .
Career
He won the US 9-ball Open in 1996 and the World Pool League in 2003 . In 2005 he also made it to the semi-finals of the 9-ball World Cup . Together with Shane van Boening , he won the 3rd World Cup of Pool in 2008 , after having made it to the final once in 2006 with Earl Strickland as a partner.
He also won bronze at the World Games 2005 in 9-Ball and has been part of the American team at the Mosconi Cup ten times , most recently in 2016 . In 2004 he was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament. His nickname in the pool scene is The Rocket .
Morris grew up in Honolulu , Hawaii and currently lives in Houston , Texas .
