The BC Oberhausen 89 e. V. (short: BC Oberhausen ) is a billiard club from Oberhausen . The club, which was founded in 1989, is the record champions of the 1st Bundesliga pool with six titles .

history

BC Oberhausen was founded in 1989 and joined the German Billiard Union in the same year . It is organized in the Billiard Association Rhein-Ruhr-Ems, is registered in Duisburg and carries out its training units and games in the pool area in Oberhausen, until 2016 in Dinslaken . The snooker department, which is less staffed, also has its venue in Oberhausen.

The club became German champions for the first time in 2000, but has only played in the 1st Bundesliga pool without interruption since its promotion in 2007 . There the team worked their way up until they finally won the championship again in 2010 after finishing second in the 2008/09 season . BC Oberhausen then celebrated five successes in a row by 2014 , making it the record champions of the Bundesliga pool with six titles. In the 2014/15 season , the team came third in the Bundesliga. In 2016 and 2017 she was runner-up.

In the ranks of BC Oberhausen there were and still are a number of successful pool players, including Oliver Ortmann (multiple world and European champions), Niels Feijen (world and multiple European champions), Andreas Roschkowsky (European and German champions), Alex Lely ( multiple European and Dutch champions), Günter Geisen (ten-time German master) and Lars Kuckherm (German master).

The chairman of the board is Svend Bohne, the second chairman is Hans-Peter Terheiden.
