World Cup of Pool 2014

The World Cup of Pool 2014 was the ninth edition of the 9-ball pool tournament, which has been held annually since 2006 . It took place from 23 to 28 September 2014 at the Mountbatten Center in Portsmouth , England . Each participating country was represented by a team of two players, only host England had two teams. The game was played in Scotch Doubles mode. The defending champions were the Philippines, who were eliminated by Finland in the quarter-finals. Team England A ( Darren Appleton and Karl Boyes ) won the tournament by beating the Netherlands ( Niels Feijen and Nick van den Berg ) 10: 9 in the final . The German doubles of Ralf Souquet and Thorsten Hohmann were eliminated in the quarter-finals against the Netherlands, Austria ( Albin Ouschan and Mario He ) lost to the Dutch in the semi-finals. The Swiss Dimitri Jungo and Ronald Regli were eliminated in the round of 16 against the Dutch doubles.

The originally planned teams from Thailand ( Nitiwat Kanjanasri and Tanut Makkamontee ) and from Vietnam ( Nguyen Phuc Long and Dang Tanh Kien ) were replaced by a Belgian or a Maltese team before the start of the tournament.
