Lee Van Corteza (born March 1, 1979 in Davao City , Mindanao ) is a Filipino pool player .

Career

He celebrated his first major successes at the Southeast Asian Games, where he collected a total of four gold medals in 8-ball and 9-ball between 1999 and 2003 . In 2003 he made it to the last 32 for the first time at the WPA 9-Ball World Championship ; a success that he was able to repeat again in 2006 and 2011 .

His greatest career success so far was reaching the finals at the WPA 10-Ball World Championship in 2009 . Only in the final did he have to admit defeat to Mika Immonen from Finland 6:11. He qualified for the World Pool Masters for the first time in 2010 , but was eliminated in the preliminary round. At the WPA 8-Ball World Championship in 2010 , he made it to the round of 16.

In 2013 he won the World Cup of Pool together with Dennis Orcollo . In 2014 they were eliminated in the quarter-finals against Finland.

In addition, the Philippines team reached the final of the WPA Pool World Championships 2010 in Hanover. In the final, however, the Philippines were defeated by the team from Great Britain 1: 4.

His nickname in the billiards scene is Van Van .
