Alejandro Salvador "Alex" Pagulayan (* 25. June 1976 in cabagan , Isabela , Philippines ) is a born in the Philippines and in Toronto , Canada grew up snooker - and snooker players.
Career
Pool
His first major success was winning the world championship in Trickshotpool Billiards in 2002. A year later he was in the final of the 9-Ball World Cup , where he had to admit defeat to Thorsten Hohmann from Germany. The following year , however, he made it to the finals again and won against the Taiwanese Chang Pei-Wei .
In 2005, he was also able to win the 29th edition of the US Open in 9-ball , which only three players from outside the USA achieved before him . Also in 2005 he won gold with the Philippine team at the Southeast Asian Games .
In 2008 he won the World Pool Masters after having made it to the final once in 2006 . In 2016 he reached the semi-finals of the 9-ball World Cup for the third time , but lost it 4:11 to eventual world champion Albin Ouschan .
snooker
In 2012 he was nominated as the reigning national snooker champion by the Canadian Federation as a player for the Snooker Main Tour ; however, decided not to participate.
