The WPA-9-Ball World Championship 2003 was the 14th edition of the World Championship in the pool discipline 9-Ball hosted by the WPA . It took place from July 12th to 20th, 2003 in the Welsh capital Cardiff .

The German Thorsten Hohmann became world champion with a 17:10 victory in the final against the Canadian Alex Pagulayan . Defending champion Earl Strickland was eliminated in the semi-finals against Hohmann.

mode

The 128 participating players were divided into 16 groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top four players in each group qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system .
