Vilmos Földes (born December 16, 1984 ) is a Hungarian pool player .

Career

The Hungarian, who lives in Pécs , won the European title in 8-ball and 9-ball in the juniors in 2000 . In 2001 and 2002 there were further top placings at junior Europe and world championships before he won the junior world championship title in 9-ball in 2003 . He has been playing in the men's age group since 2004 and was immediately able to reach a place in the round of 16 at the WPA 9-Ball World Championship . He was able to top this result at the 9-Ball World Cup in 2007 when he was only defeated in the semifinals by the eventual winner Daryl Peach .

At the World Pool Masters 2006 he made it to the quarterfinals. His greatest success on the Euro Tour is a second place, achieved at the Swiss Open 2007 in Frauenfeld . He was part of the Hungarian doubles at the World Cup of Pool in 2006 and 2007 - but the team never reached the second round.

With the PBC Black Eight Linz , Földes was four times Austrian champion (2005, 2007, 2008 , 2009 ). From 2010 to 2012 he played with PBC Billardtempel Linz in the Bundesliga.

His nickname in the pool scene is the Magic Magyar .
