Ernesto Domínguez (born April 30, 1955 ) is a Mexican pool player .

Career

In September 1991 Ernesto Domínguez was seventeenth at the US Open . Seven years later he reached the sixteenth finals of the 9-ball World Cup . At the 9-ball World Cup in 2000 and 2001 , he was eliminated in the round of 64. In 2001, he was a final victory against Brazilian Fabio Luersen Pan American champion in 9-Ball . After he finished seventeenth again at the 9-Ball World Cup in 2002 , he won the Jay Swanson Memorial 9-Ball Tournament in January 2003 . In September 2005, Domínguez finished ninth at the US Open. At the 10-Ball World Championships in 2008 and 2009 , he was eliminated in the round of 64. In May 2010 he reached the round of 32 at the World Pool Masters and was defeated there by the Englishman Raj Hundal . Two months later he was eliminated from the 9-Ball World Cup in the round of 64 against Ko Pin-yi . In September 2014, Domínguez finished seventh at the Turning Stone Casino Classic . In October 2014, with ninth place, he achieved his best result so far at the US Open .

Ernesto Domínguez currently lives in Sylmar , California . His son Óscar Domínguez is also a pool player.
