The WPA 9-ball World Cup 2014 (officially: WPA World 9-Ball Championship in 2014 ) was the 23rd edition of the WPA discharged World Cup 9-Ball - Pool . It took place from June 16 to 27, 2014 in the al-Arabi Sports Club in the Qatari capital Doha .

The reigning European champion , Niels Feijen from the Netherlands , became world champion with a 13:10 win in the final against the Austrian Albin Ouschan .

The defending champion was the German Thorsten Hohmann , who lost 9:11 against the Dutchman Marco Teutscher in the round of 64 .

128 players took part in the tournament. In the preliminary round it was played in the double knockout system . This means: After the first game, the players are divided into the winning round and the losing round. Whoever is in the winning round only has to prevail in one game against another player who won in the first round in order to get to the final round. In the losers round, on the other hand, you first have to assert yourself against another player who lost in the first game and then win against a loser from the winning round. 64 players qualified for the final round, which is played in the knockout system .
